My Story...
My name is A. Rahman Ford. I am a 32-year-old Black male born with a rare form of
Muscular Dystrophy. Because I have no other treatment options, I am seeking adult stem
cell therapy offered in Beijing, China. All of my medical records have been sent to the
hospital’s representatives and I have been approved for treatment. The total cost of the
treatment is approximately $50,000. Given the high cost, the therapy is more than I or my
family can pay for on our own. Thus, I am soliciting donations to help pay for the trip. I
understand that many people are experiencing financial hardship and have little to no
extra money for their families, much less for a complete stranger. However, please be
assured that any donation you make will go toward my stem cell treatment which, if
successful, would allow me to continue my academic career as a professor and
advocate.
